Through his talents, Charles, (or Chas as he is best known) is quickly becoming a firm favourite with people who enjoy colour, fun and gaiety in their pictures.

Born in 1957, in Lancaster, Lancashire, where many of his compositions are inspired, Chas is mainly self taught, after receiving encouragement at school in his art classes.  David Hockney and John Piper have been artistic influences on Chas's unique style.  Always individual, intricate and full of detail.

Since 1982 Chas has experimented with oils and water-colours but has now settled on acrylics as his first choice of medium.

Following the success of his first signed print St. George's Day and the commemorative 800th year Lancaster Charter print Studio Arts have published a set of prints, entitled The Four Seasons.

With exhibitions and commissions Chas is currently enjoying the "something different " approach.  The challenge of night time scenes, with starry skies and even the shapes of his pictures are taking on a new dimension.
